{"id":923,"date":"2017-06-21T10:31:00","date_gmt":"2017-06-21T10:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amakachika-mbonu.com\/?p=923"},"modified":"2025-05-02T13:16:12","modified_gmt":"2025-05-02T13:16:12","slug":"pretty-girls-rock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amakachika-mbonu.com\/nws\/pretty-girls-rock\/","title":{"rendered":"Pretty Girls Rock"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"923\" class=\"elementor elementor-923\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2ae058d4 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"2ae058d4\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-22ebcdb5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"22ebcdb5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p>I\u2019ve always been one that thinks that it is important to assess ones-self by ones-self.<\/p>\n\n<p>Like the average woman I look at myself in the mirror my face, my figure, my complexion, spots, pimples, blemishes and I think to myself\u2026ok you\u2019re not a raving beauty, but you clean up pretty well.\u00a0With the right make-up, clothes, etc you don\u2019t look half bad, but\u2026 and wait for it, would I announce this to the world, or, for that matter even to a small group of girl friends.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>I guess the question is, if all this IS true and you know it, is it really in good taste to\u2026 say it?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>I\u2019d like us to really consider this, where do we draw the line between being confident and being arrogant, the line between narcissism and simply loving the skin your in.<\/p>\n\n<p>There was a vitriolic backlash in one of the UK newspapers some time ago, in response to an article by a woman, who expressed the opinion that she was so beautiful, that men always offered to pay for things for her, and women on the other hand would instantly dislike her.<\/p>\n\n<p>The lyrics of a song \u201cPretty Girl Rock\u201d, by American singer Keri Hilson comes to mind,<\/p>\n\n<p><em>\u201cAll eyes on me when I walk in, no question that this girls a ten\u201d, \u201cmy walk, my talk the way I dress it\u2019s not my fault so please don\u2019t trip \u2026girls think I\u2019m conceited \u2018cos I know I\u2019m attractive\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>I guess the question is, if all this IS true and you know it, is it really in good taste to\u2026 say it?<\/p>\n\n<p>Shouldn\u2019t you let others say it for you, while you blush and say in a slightly embarrassed manner, \u201cthank you\u201d or \u201cyour exaggerating\u201d or make some other self deprecating comment; on the other hand, come to think about it, isn\u2019t that a form of hypocrisy.<\/p>\n\n<p>A great book, l like to call, \u2018The Books\u2019 spoke about not praising or drawing attention to yourself, rather, to let others do that for you, and it seems to be somewhat generally accepted that one should not \u201cblow their own trumpet\u201d as it were. When you consider it a bit deeper though, is there such a thing as false modesty, or should one consider the fact that if you don\u2019t \u201cblow your own trumpet\u201d who will?<\/p>\n\n<p>There is also the consideration that no matter how beautiful you think, or believe you are on the outside, the fact that you are so bold and brazen as to say it, doesn\u2019t that point to the fact that there might be something not so beautiful about you on the inside.<\/p>\n\n<p>There must, I guess be a balance to be struck between all these seemingly conflicting stances.
